About the Role
The Senior Director, Product will lead the strategy, development, and execution of Come Near’s product initiatives to help people take a step closer to Jesus. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role will guide the product management team, ensuring our products are impactful, user-centered, and aligned with our mission and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a passion for understanding audience needs, shaping product vision, and executing with excellence while mentoring and developing a team.
What You'll Do
- Product Strategy & Vision: Lead the development and execution of product strategies that align with Come Near’s mission and organizational goals. Crafts and communicates compelling product visions and strategy that are inspiring & daring, lovable by customers, and technically feasible. Develops and executes a comprehensive technology and design strategy to support this vision.
- Narrative & External Representation: Serve as a credible, mission-aligned voice for Come Near's product work in external settings, including conversations with partners, donors, and peer organizations. Translates complex product strategy into compelling narratives that reinforce organizational credibility and deepen stakeholder trust in the mission.
- Creating personally engaging products: Ensures the neighbor is always brought into the room. Drives the team to develop a deep understanding of Neighbor needs, pain points, and behaviors, and then ensures these insights are continually propagated across the organization for impact. Collaborates closely with the Chief Creative Officer and Chief Impact Officer to ensure the right messages reach the right neighbors at the right times, driving desired organizational outcomes.
- Delivering Results: Leads the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and prioritization to execution and release. Works closely with product, design, research, and content teams to ensure timely and high- quality product delivery while maintaining a clear product roadmap.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the product management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Ensures every team member from junior individual contributors to vice presidents are aligned with the broader vision and empowered to execute their responsibilities effectively.
- Neighbor-Centered Product Development: Serve as a neighbor advocate by integrating market research and neighbor feedback and insights into initiative planning. Ensure product decisions are informed by deep audience understanding, research insights, and market trends.
- Performance & Impact Measurement: Establish and track key performance indicators to evaluate product success and inform future iterations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress clearly to leadership and stakeholders, building alignment across the organization.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement within the product organization.
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Product Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience
- 10+ years of product management experience, including leadership of multi-disciplinary product teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven success in developing and executing org strategy, roadmaps, and full lifecycle management in alignment with organizational goals - from ideation and requirements gathering to launch and ongoing optimization.
- Track record of collaborating effectively with engineering, design, marketing, operations teams and external partners.
- Leading the development and integration of scalable processes, tools, and best practices for product development across an organization.
- User-centered design, discovery, and data-informed decision-making.
- Interviewing, onboarding, and mentoring new product, design, and engineering staff.
- Experience in nonprofit, faith-based, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of mentoring high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams around product vision and goals.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate insights into actionable product strategies.
- Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Aha!).

- This role is required to sign and comply with the organization’s Statement of Faith.
