Remote Digital Media Product Manager

Summary
The Digital Media Product Manager is a creative and execution-driven leader responsible for shepherding media offerings from initial concept to final publication, reporting to the Media Team Associate General Manager. This role manages and owns the end-to-end media lifecycle—including ideation, content development, production, editing, packaging, and release—ensuring each piece is mission-driven, audience-focused, and optimized for digital performance.
This person collaborates closely with producers, editors, content specialists, and on-screen talent to create compelling, high-quality media offerings that serve the mission of evangelization. The Product Manager balances creative vision with data-informed decision-making to grow audience engagement, reach, and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Ideation
- Lead and facilitate content brainstorming sessions with team members and talent, generating video ideas aligned with Ascension’s mission and the Ascension Presents brand.
- Translate audience needs, trends, and platform insights into clear, actionable video concepts.
- Develop and maintain a content roadmap and publishing calendar for distribution platforms and channels.
End-to-End Ownership
- Own assigned media offerings from concept through publication, ensuring clarity of vision, message, and execution at every stage.
- Write or oversee outlines, scripts, and key messaging in collaboration with content specialists and talent.
- Ensure theological accuracy and alignment with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Production & Workflow Management
- Coordinate with producers to plan and execute shoots, including timelines, logistics, and creative direction.
- Oversee production workflows to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery across multiple projects.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for deadlines and deliverables.
Post-Production & Packaging
- Collaborate with editors to shape the final video, including pacing, storytelling, and tone.
- Oversee packaging elements such as titles, thumbnails, and descriptions to maximize click-through rate and viewer retention.
- Serve as an editor or graphic designer as needed.
- Ensure all content is optimized and aligned with platform best practices.
Talent & Stakeholder Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with talent.
- Clearly communicate expectations, provide creative direction, and guide talent through the content development process.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on messaging and priorities.
Performance & Optimization
- Analyze performance metrics such as watch time, retention, click-through rate, and engagement to evaluate success and inform future content.
- Continuously test and refine content strategies based on data and audience feedback.
- Stay current on media trends, algorithm changes, and digital content best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, social media, and distribution teams to support video launches and maximize reach.
- Collaborate with broader Ascension teams to align content with organizational priorities and campaigns.
Mission Alignment
- Ensure all content reflects the mission of Ascension and presents the Catholic faith with clarity, beauty, and fidelity.
- Maintain awareness of influential voices, topics, and conversations within the Catholic digital space.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Media, Communications, Marketing, Production, or a related field.
- 5+ years of video product management or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in video production.
- Proficiency with Smartsheet or a similar platform, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Workspace, YouTube Analytics, and Klaviyo or a similar platform.
- Proven ability to drive projects and lead teams.
- Strong project management, production coordination, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to problems.
- Passion for developing products that align with Ascension’s mission and values.
- Ability to travel approximately three days per month for specific projects.
- Ability to travel occasionally to Exton, Pennsylvania.
